[0.0s] previously on Dumbgeons and Dragons. [30.0s] The city is on high alert. [31.6s] We are trying to avoid the gate, not go through it. [34.7s] I am taking you to another point on the wall. [36.7s] You tie off to the other side and one, two, three, you go over and scale down. [41.8s] Leave the rope there. [44.2s] But you come down and land into some brush and you see off towards the main road that [50.9s] cuts across the city, you see helmed guards patrolling, but you are able to make your [56.1s] way through the brush and you look back up to the wall and the location where you came [62.6s] down, you see one of these large gargoyles come out of the night and land and crunch [70.6s] down on top of the pillar where you climbed down and it's scanning the grass below. [77.2s] But it doesn't appear to see you as you disappear into the night on your way back [82.1s] to Prosker. [83.3s] And from the city of Cereloon you just hear faintly on the wind the sound of a pan flute [91.8s] playing a melody from a faraway land. [113.3s] Welcome to Dumbgeons and Dragons. [118.2s] I'm your Dungeon Master Russ More and with me today is Carla Maxted. [122.8s] That is me. [124.0s] I know how to play this game expertly. [127.0s] Just wait. [128.0s] And I play Glim. [129.0s] And Amy More. [131.4s] I know how to play this game marginally. [135.4s] And I play Sullivan Sleight. [137.9s] And Tom Laird. [140.2s] I know how to play this game Muppetippa. [144.2s] And I play Moot. [146.0s] So hi, everybody. [148.8s] It seems like we haven't played this or any main feed game in forever. [155.8s] Well, it has been a while. [156.8s] Russ had to do the intro like nine times. [158.8s] I'll put. [159.8s] Yeah, there was only a couple, but. [161.9s] I'm D&D. [162.9s] No way. [163.9s] No, I'm. [164.9s] I'm. [165.9s] Welcome to Russ. [166.9s] I'm a Dumbgeons and Dragons. [169.2s] I'm a Dumbgeons and Dragons. [171.4s] I mean, story checks out. [173.4s] Yeah, a little rusty. [175.4s] A little rusty. [177.4s] Hi. [178.4s] Where you can hear a game that we played more more recently than this and where Tom [183.8s] did much better introing the game than I did is over on Patreon, Patreon.com slash [188.7s] dumb dragon cast, where when you're a patron you get access to our exclusive game [195.1s] called The Adventures of Facing Fate. [199.2s] No, not Facing Fate. [201.1s] Get out of here, Amy. [203.2s] I'm sorry. I wasn't. [204.5s] I didn't have my listening ears on. [206.8s] Usually you're teeing us up for Facing Fate. [209.2s] I got all excited. [210.2s] No, no. [211.6s] This one's all about Tom. [212.8s] This one's all about Tom. [214.0s] Well, not really. [215.0s] The Adventures of. [216.0s] It's about all of you. [217.8s] Yeah. And mostly Russ. [220.0s] And the. What? [222.4s] I mean, yeah, that's fair. [224.1s] I do hijack it every now and again. [225.9s] That's that's that's not my fault. [227.7s] It isn't. [228.7s] Clearly, you know, this is I feel like this season that we're doing right now. [232.7s] Season four is just Opal's arc. [234.3s] And then. He'll just be dust in the wind after that. [237.9s] He will somehow become the big bad. [240.1s] Has been prophesized. [243.4s] But when you're a patron, you also get an episode dedicated to you. [246.6s] Like today's patron. [250.6s] Eli McElveen and Sean Howard. [253.1s] Thanks, Eli and Sean. [254.8s] Oh, Sean and Eli and Sean. [257.1s] You are amazing. [257.7s] We know them. [258.7s] We do know them. [260.2s] We know. Well, we know in person. [261.9s] We did meet them in person. [263.7s] Pre pandemic. [265.0s] Yeah. Remember meeting people in person. [266.9s] Oh, they're wild times. [269.0s] There was a there was a point this year when we could have seen Sean again [273.0s] in person, but covid. [275.1s] Yeah. Yeah. [276.1s] Because we were going to try and do the Edmonton Expo again. [278.5s] And he was going to come out for that. [282.8s] Collective sigh. [283.9s] Yeah. Well, we miss you guys. [285.6s] Anyways, now it's time to play the game, I think. [290.0s] Fuck it, let's play. [292.4s] Previously, because I think we all need a little refresher. [296.2s] Need a little previously. [297.8s] The three of you had gone to the wonderful city of Sarah Loon. [302.4s] You proceeded to fire blast faces. [305.8s] Touch my donkey. [307.7s] No one touches Rolf. [308.9s] Donkey, which you left the donkey there. [312.2s] We did with a very kind staple boy. [314.8s] Oh, Rolf, I love you so much. [318.0s] You stole a bunch of stuff off of a ship and then you escaped [323.4s] via a local rooftop escape artist. [328.4s] Sneaky sneak. [329.4s] Named Flora's Lava, played by the wonderful Keith Ahman. [333.8s] And now we find you having [338.7s] spent a good 10 day on the road, [342.7s] practicing your skills. [345.7s] Thinking about what to do next with your life. [349.5s] Rolling up to the city of Prosker. [352.7s] Now, Sully, during this time, you've been really honing those skills. [358.0s] You know, you got a good practice on the ship there, [361.4s] perhaps in some weird, roguish way, lending a hand [365.7s] to all of your friends, because everybody rolled really well. [369.7s] But you got to level up. [372.4s] Oh, pew, pew, pew, pew, pew, laser's explosions. [378.5s] So we're going to go into what you got. [380.4s] You go to level three, Sully. [384.1s] Stats. Yeah. [385.9s] All right. So in this level, only one thing changed for me. [389.2s] I got to choose a roguish archetype. [392.0s] So this is something that [396.3s] that I get at third level, and it makes me awesome. [400.2s] I chose. Well, I'm not going to split hairs here. [404.3s] It makes me awesome. [405.4s] It makes you awesome. [406.2s] But it guides the type of rogue that you are for future. [410.4s] Oh, I know. Yeah. [411.8s] I'm just explaining this to to our listeners. [414.2s] Oh, right. Because this is a podcast. [416.5s] What? For other people. [419.3s] Are you out there listening right now? [421.2s] I mean, we dedicated to somebody, at least one person's listening. [423.8s] That's true. We dedicated it to two people. [425.7s] That's true. All right. [427.0s] So mastermind is what I chose. [430.0s] And it says with mastermind, [432.8s] I gain master of intrigue, [436.6s] which means I gain proficiency with the disguise kit, [440.5s] the forgery kit and one gaming set of my choice. [444.3s] And I get to learn two languages of my choice. [446.8s] Additionally, I get to unerringly. [450.2s] Do you hear that, Russell? [451.2s] I'm not going to make any mistakes because it says unerringly. [455.3s] OK, means without error, [457.6s] mimic the speech patterns and accents of a creature that I hear speak [461.2s] for at least a minute, enabling me to pass myself off as a native [465.0s] speaker of a particular land, provided that I know the language. [468.7s] Everybody you meet from now on is only going to speak in one word sentences. [473.2s] Just a lot of grunts. [475.4s] Uh, Amy, I'm very excited for Sully's [480.2s] master of the disguise kit because I'm picturing just fake mustaches [484.3s] all of the time, all the time. [486.2s] Those big Groucho glasses with the nose attached to them. [489.6s] Perfect. Yeah, a lot of them are going to be homemade. [493.3s] It's going to be great. [494.0s] So I chose a dice set and my two languages being draconic and orc. [500.0s] I also get master of tactics. [502.0s] So it says that starting at this level, [504.4s] I get to use the help action as a bonus action. [507.8s] Additionally, when you use the help action to aid an ally in attacking [511.3s] a creature, the target of that attack can be within 30 feet of you [514.9s] rather than within five feet of you, if the target can see or hear you. [519.6s] So it makes help a lot more helpful. [525.7s] When was the last time you used the help action? [528.6s] I didn't even know I had it. [529.6s] I mean, never, almost never. [532.0s] And now it's a bonus action. [533.3s] So you can use it all the time, not use it again and again. [538.7s] You can not use it on every turn. [540.7s] But this is what happens is that I get something cool [543.8s] and then I go, oh, I didn't know I could do that. [547.5s] And now I'm going to do it. [549.4s] I hope so. Maybe. [550.9s] What does it help? Or alternatively, alternatively, [554.0s] in about six or eight months, we'll get a new listener. [557.4s] They'll listen back to this old episode. [559.8s] They'll go on Discord and say, hey, does Amy ever use that bonus [563.4s] action of help that she has? [564.8s] And then we'll all be like, oh, yeah, help. [569.3s] That's the best. Where is help? [571.4s] It's under bonus actions now. [573.2s] To carry on the stats, stats, stats, stats, actions. [577.4s] Help is one where you can provide assistance [580.8s] in a narrative or mechanic style way. [584.7s] I'm sorry, Russ, I don't know where you're looking. [588.2s] What the listener can see is that Russ is pointing at Amy's [592.3s] computer screen directly to help [596.0s] and help once you once you use that action, gives the person [600.4s] you are helping advantage on their next role, [603.7s] of which you are helping them with, be it a strength check and stealth or whatever. [608.7s] Oh, I hope Sully sneaks in behind someone on his hands and knees [611.9s] so Glim can push them over him. [614.7s] It might be you. Classic. [616.1s] It might be Moot. All right. [618.6s] Sorry. Follow up question. [620.3s] This is just like learning time with Dumbgeons and Dragons. [624.8s] Improvise? Yeah. [626.7s] It's like, oh, I've got this spoon and this rattlesnake. [630.7s] I'd like to improvise a banjo. [634.2s] Yeah. Well, usually it's like improvising a weapon because it's in combat. [638.5s] Right. I'd like to I'd like to pick up the snake near me [641.6s] and use it as a whip and whip this person in the face. [644.0s] Is that like improvise? Yeah. Yeah. [646.4s] Fang first whip in the face. [648.1s] I mean, that's awesome. [649.1s] If you click on them, they tell you what they do, too. [652.3s] Oh, my God, they do. [654.6s] Y'all, I'm not going to waste the rest of the podcast time with this. [657.2s] I'll do my own reading. [658.5s] No, this is learning with me. [660.8s] I'd like to hear at least one more option of improvise [663.7s] because the first one is true. [665.2s] I would also like another example and a snake. [668.0s] And then you make a banjo. [669.6s] So please tell me what else comes to you immediately, [672.6s] because that was magical. [675.6s] You know, I don't know. [676.8s] Like if I had like a tin can and a rock, I could probably like make [681.6s] I don't know, like I'm going to say I just want to go with musical device. [686.0s] I'm right there. [686.9s] I'm like, it'd be a really poor maraca. [689.4s] I was going to say the one rock maraca. [696.8s] I mean, probably a better maraca than the snake spoon banjo. [700.3s] No idea what I do with that snake spoon banjo. [703.3s] We're going to find out now that now that Amy knows [705.7s] Sully can improvise during combat. [709.0s] Ah, all these basic things. [711.4s] It's just so good. [712.3s] And now we can leave Sully. [714.2s] Snake spoon now stats over. [720.7s] We join the three of you. [722.0s] How how did you get back? [723.8s] Did you just walk the whole way or did you hitch a ride? [726.7s] You tell me what you're doing as you get back into Prosker. [731.5s] Improvise Amy, this is your time to shine. [736.0s] I hop Sully hops on Glim's back, right? [739.5s] All like, yeah. [743.0s] It doesn't go over well. [744.0s] I don't think it lasts very long. [745.2s] I mean, you could help. [746.3s] You could help me with my strength check with your help. [749.0s] And then I'd be very extra strong and it'd be no problem [751.7s] because you'd use improvise as the action and help as the bonus action. [755.6s] Mm hmm. It's all coming together now. [757.8s] You rue the day that I looked at this sheet of paper. [761.2s] You rue the day I've read my character sheet, Russ. [766.1s] That's OK. It's not going to stick. [767.6s] We all know. I'll forget this. [768.9s] I think I think we walk. [770.6s] I think we try to lay really low, right? [772.5s] We just escaped a city in which we were wanted people. [776.5s] And now we're moseying on up to like an entire city of thieves and crooks. [782.5s] So all right. [784.0s] So 10 day walk. [785.4s] I feel like Glim is really just she's feeling it. [789.0s] She's good. She's in the zone. [790.8s] Sully and Moot, though. [794.2s] Probably dragging a little bit by this point is my guess. [798.1s] My for sure ask for piggyback rides. [800.5s] We're not we don't have the hearty constitution that Glim does, though. [804.0s] It's true. [805.2s] I mean, I have a very good constitution score, but not in that way. [809.3s] Right. I do not. [811.4s] Guys, I feel like we've been walking for like a really long time. [814.5s] I know. Isn't it great? [815.7s] I feel so good. [816.8s] We've been out in this fresh air and we're heading to Prosker. [819.8s] And we escaped that place where I never even want to think about again [823.8s] or go to again or consider again, except for Flora's Lava, who was so cool. [828.3s] He was like really cool. [830.1s] He was definitely really cool. [832.0s] I know I said I wouldn't say it again, but are we there yet? [835.8s] Yeah. How long how long is it to Prosker? [838.8s] I mean, we must be almost there, right? [840.7s] It's got to be like over this hill. [842.4s] Please tell me it's over. [843.6s] Oh, is it over the hill? [844.8s] You get up to the top of the hill. [847.8s] And on the other side of that hill. [850.6s] You see another hill. [852.4s] But on the other side of that hill, you see Prosker. [856.2s] Fuck it. I'm rolling down these hills and Sully straight up bends over, [861.1s] grabs his ankles and like tire rolls himself down the hill. [866.7s] OK. Tell me how many jugs you're carrying as you do this. [870.3s] I'm not carrying the jugs. [871.6s] No, we gave them all to me, remember? [873.1s] All of them for 10 days. Wow. [876.6s] We took lots of rests. [879.5s] You know, I have all of them. [880.9s] Maybe Moot maybe has a couple, but I know I took Sully's for sure. [885.0s] Yeah, I think I had the soft spices and things like that. [888.4s] Right, because there were six total jugs. [890.6s] Yeah. Yeah. [891.4s] OK, that's cool. [892.4s] We've got two strong people and Sully. [896.2s] So Sully is. [899.0s] Like hula hoop rolling himself down this hill right now, I suppose. [903.1s] Just ass over tea kettle, just like, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. [907.4s] That's the sound it would be if he was on the hill. [911.7s] It's like a Benny Hill theme going as it's going. [914.5s] Yeah, exactly. [915.6s] Find me. Yeah, exactly. [919.9s] Where are these scantily clad women come from? [922.6s] And these keystone cops that are running around chasing them. [926.1s] Oh, yeah. [928.0s] It's about midday as you roll into Prosker. [930.2s] Where's your literally? [932.5s] Ah, what's you do? [937.0s] What's your what are you doing? [938.6s] It's your first stop. Where do you go? [940.0s] Who do you see? What do you do? [941.6s] I know about you guys, but I really like a hot meal. [944.1s] Is Prosker where we came from? [948.3s] Like where the blood oath was signed? Yes. [951.0s] Unbeknownst to Glim, but yes. [953.1s] Yes. Yes. Yes. [954.2s] That was Carla asking, not Glim. [956.3s] And where I got in trouble for handing out pamphlets. [958.6s] That was Glim. [959.5s] Yep. Yep. That was Prosker. [961.4s] That's where all of this began. [962.7s] I got kidnapped. Yep. Yep. [964.4s] Yes. But Moot met a great friend. That's true. [969.8s] Only good only good memories for you. [972.9s] Yeah, I mean, probably food and lodgings. [976.4s] And then we have this stuff that we probably want to get get back to Charmy. [984.4s] Hey, guys, maybe we can go grab something to eat at the Rusty Bucket. [987.9s] Yeah, I could use some some home cooked meal in cooked meal. [992.8s] You know what I mean. Not road food. [994.8s] Bucket cooked meal. [996.1s] Just bring me a bucket of that chicken that they're so so hyped about. [999.8s] I hadn't heard about the chicken. [1001.3s] Oh, apparently it's finger licking good. [1003.2s] Yeah, right. I can go for some wings of something. [1005.2s] All right. You head to the Rusty, Rusty Bucket. [1007.7s] The Rusty Bucket. [1009.0s] The Rusty Bucket. Take several white Russians, please. [1012.4s] That's right. It's all borscht and white Russians. [1016.2s] This is different than I remember. [1018.0s] Ownership changed. Yeah. [1020.7s] You head to the Rusty Bucket. [1022.8s] You grab your food. [1024.5s] They have a tavern attached, which provides you lodgings. [1027.9s] Well, right. [1028.9s] Like, we should probably take this stuff to Charmy. [1030.7s] And I mean, I've used seven napkins already and my hands are still slick. [1034.9s] Anybody got like a napkin, but like it's been pre-moistened? [1038.8s] Hmm. I don't know. [1041.0s] Maybe maybe they can just get you like a wet rag from behind the bar. [1045.9s] Would that work? Yeah. Yeah, I guess so. [1047.8s] Or a finger bowl. Oh, yeah, those are fun. [1050.3s] That sounds like really fancy. [1052.3s] I don't know. I don't know. [1054.5s] Moot, write this down for me. [1055.8s] Write this down. OK. Pre-wetted napkin. [1061.5s] Pre-wetted napkin. [1063.8s] Mm hmm. We're going to call it the PWN. [1068.1s] PWN. Yeah, it's going to be big. [1071.2s] Remind me in like, remind me in like 10 days. [1074.1s] OK, I'm on it. [1078.4s] What's happening in 10 days? [1079.6s] Don't ask. None of your business. [1083.4s] There's a there's an old woman sitting beside you. [1086.1s] What's happening in 10 days, dearie? [1089.2s] How is this going to be such a big thing in 10 days? [1091.9s] I can't explain. Yeah, it's just a feeling I have. [1094.4s] Also, you've been listening this whole time. [1096.0s] You know, it's rather nosy. [1097.6s] Well, you sat down right next to me at this table here. [1101.3s] Just invited yourself. [1102.4s] Are we in the same fucking booth right now? [1104.2s] Yeah, we're on a four top and we did sit right next to this old woman. [1107.6s] Yeah, I was just sitting here enjoying my rusty bucket of chicken. [1112.6s] And the three of you sit down and just start talking about wet napkins. [1116.0s] Well, perhaps you seemed a little bit lonely. [1118.7s] Well, I just thought some proximity would be would be nice. [1122.0s] Well, it's been a while since I've seen my children. [1125.7s] All right, we should probably go see Shami. [1127.7s] Are you lonely? [1128.6s] Because I could tell you about this friend of mine. [1130.8s] I would love a story. [1132.0s] He keeps you company in like all of the darkness. [1134.4s] Maybe we should wrap this up before it gets started. [1137.7s] Well, also, Glim, you're not supposed to do that here. [1140.0s] You got in big trouble. [1140.9s] Yeah, that was a bit of a problem last time we were here. [1143.2s] What's she not supposed to do? Right. [1145.5s] Oh, nothing. I'll I'll tell you later. [1147.4s] Prostate to the size. [1149.5s] I put the pamphlet that I was holding back in my back in my pocket. [1157.6s] No pamphlets here. [1158.9s] You're a very interesting group and I like you a lot. [1161.3s] My name's [1163.3s] Judith. [1164.5s] Pfft. [1165.6s] Judith. [1167.0s] Mmm, Judith. [1169.1s] Sometimes I don't say my name very often. [1171.5s] Sometimes I just get stuck in my chops there. [1173.3s] You know what? [1173.7s] Sometimes the name just tastes, you know, when the name just [1177.0s] and you rolled around in your mouth and you're just like, [1179.3s] mmm, Judith. [1180.6s] Judith. [1182.1s] Judith. [1183.1s] All right, Judith. [1184.5s] All right. [1185.4s] You enjoy that bucket. [1187.0s] All right, wet napkins, friend. [1188.2s] I'll tell you about Bahamut. [1189.8s] Mmm. [1190.3s] Bahamut. [1192.8s] Judith, you keep that under your belt. [1194.3s] You don't say that word. [1195.3s] I'm just tasting Bahamut. [1198.2s] Mmm, Bahamut. [1200.2s] It's the most delicious word in the universe. [1203.4s] But we should go. [1204.2s] We've got jugs of stolen goods to deliver. [1207.8s] Well, you've got to do something. [1209.2s] See you later. [1209.8s] What? [1210.7s] Bye-bye now. [1212.3s] Bye, Judith. [1213.9s] Bye. [1215.3s] We didn't want to take Judith with us. [1217.7s] Guys, I think that's the first time we've turned down [1220.0s] an NPC to come with us ever. [1222.8s] I just really didn't like the way she said it. [1225.1s] It was very unsettling. [1226.2s] So I thought Amy said, call her Judith. [1228.9s] At one point, I was like, wow. [1234.9s] I didn't, but it would be great. [1235.6s] Nope, definitely said Judith, just with Sully's accents. [1238.8s] Mmm. [1239.7s] Oh, yeah. [1241.2s] Don't worry, I didn't want you to bring Judith either. [1243.3s] I didn't know she was going to be there. [1245.2s] Yeah, I was going to say that wasn't one of your carefully [1247.9s] crafted NPCs. [1249.2s] No, he has a wrench down here. [1250.8s] There's like four M's and then Judith. [1253.8s] Ruslick said, as patient, it just says, sexy goblin, [1256.8s] so we're in for it tonight. [1258.5s] Yeah. [1260.4s] Judith. [1261.3s] Judith. [1262.0s] Judith. [1264.0s] Bah-mah-t. [1266.2s] Bah-mah-t, bah-mah-t, bah-mah-t. [1269.8s] Oh, yes. [1271.5s] Yes. [1274.0s] Yes. [1276.4s] We're going to take this little break here to say, [1278.6s] this is what happens when we don't record for a month [1280.8s] and a half on a specific storyline. [1283.9s] It's good. [1284.6s] It reminds me. [1285.4s] We're just coming home to these old friends, [1288.2s] and it just feels so good. [1289.6s] It reminds me of how we used to do it, all shenanigan. [1292.8s] It was a little rocky start there, [1294.4s] but once Judith showed up, it really just brought it all back. [1297.4s] Yep. [1297.8s] Mmm, Judith. [1303.9s] He's doing something with his tongue, isn't he? [1306.8s] Mmm, Judith. [1309.7s] Judith. [1310.4s] It's a lot of lip licking going on. [1313.9s] Well, that's the only way to make that noise. [1315.9s] Mmm. [1316.9s] No, it's not. [1317.9s] No, it's not. [1318.9s] Mmm, Judith. [1319.9s] No, it's got like a mmm. [1321.9s] It's got like a mmm thing in it. [1323.9s] Stop it. [1324.9s] Throw some wet sounds. [1325.9s] Lots of wet sounds. [1326.9s] I mean, the mood vote for this episode of 3M's Judith [1330.3s] is going to be a real weird one. [1332.1s] I'm sure Judith, how many M's is that? [1333.6s] I went for three. [1335.2s] Yeah, I think it's like three sounds. [1336.2s] Yeah, three's good. [1336.9s] Four, a little excessive. [1337.9s] Well, there's a mmm, so yeah, there's three. [1340.7s] How am I supposed to articulate that? [1342.9s] Is there like a special umlong for M's when you go up an octave? [1348.4s] Yeah, sure. [1349.4s] Why not? [1350.4s] You can use some capitals in lower cases and they'll really get your point across. [1353.4s] Oh, that's true. [1354.4s] Yep. [1355.4s] Somebody cling clang at this door. [1358.4s] God, Judith seemed really lonely. [1361.4s] Yeah, I'm going to come find her later maybe. [1364.0s] I don't know if you should do that, Glen. [1365.0s] Tell her about Vaughnet. [1366.0s] I know. [1367.0s] It's like- [1368.0s] I thought it was just the pamphlets. [1369.0s] Do you think it was- [1370.0s] No, I think it's the whole thing. [1371.0s] I think it's the general message. [1372.5s] Right, because we're in the Thieves' City and they don't like me. [1375.5s] That's right. [1376.5s] This is preaching about the Lord of Justice. [1377.5s] Well, it's not that they don't like you. [1378.5s] Yeah, they just don't like you. [1379.5s] Yeah. [1380.5s] Yeah, yeah, yeah. [1381.5s] We're going to be respectful of their trickster thievy person. [1386.5s] Yeah, I want to be respectful of their beliefs as well. [1389.5s] Yeah. [1390.5s] Yeah, that's true. [1391.5s] All right, let's go find Shami here. [1393.5s] You know what? [1394.5s] You guys have been troopers holding these jugs. [1396.5s] Do you want me to carry them the rest of the way? [1399.5s] Not all of them. [1400.5s] Maybe like three of them? [1402.0s] Maybe not three of them. [1403.0s] Maybe like two of them? [1405.0s] I think it's fine. [1406.0s] Would you like- [1407.0s] How about- [1408.0s] I'll give you one. [1409.0s] Oh yeah, okay. [1410.0s] I can carry a jug. [1411.0s] Okay. [1416.0s] You head back to the town square of Prosker where Shami's establishment is. [1423.0s] It's a happening day. [1424.0s] Everybody's out shopping, having a good time. [1427.0s] Shami's got a lineup, you know, six people deep. [1431.6s] This is good. [1432.6s] Guys, I think we should join a lineup. [1434.6s] This is just a feeling I have as Amy. [1436.6s] I immediately want to stand in this line for no reason. [1439.6s] Who might we talk to in this lineup? [1442.6s] It's true. [1443.6s] Also, I feel like sometimes we're just so Canadian. [1446.6s] That we just get in line and we're like, cool. [1449.6s] It's like we see a lineup and then we just get in a lineup. [1452.6s] Yeah. [1453.6s] And then you talk to the person in front of you and every person just like did [1456.6s] the same thing and no one even knows. [1458.6s] Anyway. [1460.1s] Like a garbage chute perhaps? [1461.1s] Canadian problems. [1462.1s] Yeah, like a garbage chute. [1463.1s] All right, good. [1464.1s] Just going to sidle up next to, hello there. [1467.1s] The gentleman in front of you turns around just waiting in line for some herbs. [1475.1s] Ah, yeah. [1476.1s] Oh, your name's Herb? [1477.1s] It's so nice to meet you. [1479.1s] No, my name's Frederick, but I'm here for herbs. [1483.1s] Oh, I see. [1484.1s] Frederick, it's so nice to meet you. [1485.1s] My name's Glim. [1486.1s] Pleasure. [1487.6s] Do people call you Freddie? [1490.6s] Uh, not in a long time. [1493.6s] What about Rick? [1494.6s] Never, actually. [1495.6s] Not once has anybody called me Rick, so. [1498.6s] That could be something cool you get into. [1500.6s] Yeah. [1501.6s] Yeah. [1502.6s] Apostrophe Rick. [1503.6s] Let me try it on here for a minute. [1505.6s] Hey, I'm Rick. [1506.6s] Well, that sounds pretty awesome. [1507.6s] Hey, Rick, how's it going? [1508.6s] Yeah. [1509.6s] It seems cool. [1510.6s] Hey, I'm Frederick. [1511.6s] I mean, still good, but maybe it doesn't have the same... [1517.1s] Zing. [1518.1s] Hey, I'm Rick. [1519.1s] Rick should have, like, a leather jacket. [1521.1s] Rick's a good-time guy. [1523.1s] Okay. [1524.1s] Well, I've got a son named Carl, so, you know what, let me call, maybe you can help [1529.7s] him with his name, Carl! [1532.6s] So we've got Carl, Rick, and, mm, Judith. [1537.3s] There's a theme, folks. [1538.3s] Can you guess it? [1539.3s] I am sensing a theme. [1540.8s] Just drop that in the Discord if you've figured out the Easter egg in this. [1545.5s] It just happened. [1547.4s] A skinny boy comes walking over. [1550.4s] What? [1551.4s] Well, these folks just gave me a new name. [1554.4s] What? [1555.4s] Yeah, we renamed you Dad. [1557.4s] To what? [1558.4s] Rick. [1559.4s] Yeah, my name is Rick now. [1562.4s] That's stupid. [1563.4s] Hey, you respect your dad. [1565.4s] That's his name. [1566.4s] It's also just half of his regular name. [1569.4s] What are you, witches? [1570.4s] Were you a witch? [1571.4s] No. [1572.4s] Why would you? [1573.4s] Because you're changing names. [1575.4s] Now we just offered a suggestion. [1576.4s] I don't know if you understand what witches do. [1578.9s] To change people's names, obviously. [1580.9s] So my mom always wrote me up. [1583.9s] She says, is anybody trying to change your name, they're probably a witch? [1586.9s] That's a very specific thing to have been told. [1588.9s] What happened to your mom? [1589.9s] She had her name changed by a witch. [1591.9s] But couldn't she just ask people to call her something else? [1593.9s] She couldn't remember. [1594.9s] But then how'd she know to tell you? [1599.9s] Aha! [1600.9s] Are you a witch? [1602.9s] No. [1604.3s] Cotton, you don't fucking lie. [1605.3s] Get out of here, kid. [1608.3s] Well, that's my son. [1609.3s] I'm going to turn back. [1612.3s] Oh, look, we're next in line here. [1614.3s] I'm just going to go buy my herbs. [1616.3s] Nice to meet you. [1617.3s] My name is Rick. [1619.3s] It was real nice meeting you too, Rick. [1621.3s] Nice to meet you, Rick. [1622.3s] Bye, Rick. [1623.3s] Your son's a dick. [1625.3s] Was he like six? [1626.3s] Seven? [1627.3s] Yeah. [1628.3s] God. [1629.7s] Oh, that's a lot. [1632.7s] I somehow thought like 12. [1634.7s] He approached with a lot of tween. [1635.7s] Yeah, he had some real attitude going on. [1637.7s] I guess I misread that. [1639.7s] Yeah, probably like middle years. [1641.7s] Yeah. [1642.7s] Tweens. [1644.7s] Rick goes and buys his herbs and then you're next in line there. [1648.7s] You walk in and it's the same style of setup. [1652.7s] Lots of turnstiles as last time. [1654.7s] Shami, baby, we're back. [1657.7s] Who are you? [1659.1s] Uh. [1661.1s] Remember? [1662.1s] You zipped us off to saloon. [1665.1s] Oh, right. [1668.1s] You just tell him that you've completely forgotten about us regardless of if we were [1671.1s] to come back with your stuff. [1672.1s] We would have been off scot-free. [1673.1s] Well, no. [1674.1s] You signed the- [1675.1s] Oh, no, no. [1676.1s] Hello. [1677.1s] Sully, are you okay, Sully? [1680.1s] Sully, oh my goodness. [1682.1s] Yeah, sorry about that. [1684.1s] No, you're right. [1685.1s] We would have came back regardless because those are the kind of good people we are. [1688.5s] Give her her things, everybody. [1690.5s] Oh, good. [1691.5s] Let me just check the inventory here. [1692.5s] Lay them all out on the table. [1694.5s] She pulls out her list. [1697.5s] She goes down six alchemical jugs marked with the sign of Dagon, which of course looks [1703.5s] like- [1704.5s] This symbol here on these here jugs? [1706.5s] Yeah. [1707.5s] Yeah, just like the ones that are right here. [1709.5s] This checks out. [1710.5s] Yeah. [1711.5s] Yep. [1712.5s] My papers are somewhere. [1713.5s] I took notes. [1714.5s] Uh-huh. [1715.5s] Uh-huh. [1716.5s] Uh-huh. [1718.0s] Oh, you got some- [1719.0s] And everything nice is. [1720.0s] It's all there, man. [1721.0s] And everything nice is from Aglaros. [1722.0s] She's got the dream- dream flake, the sundrop, the satara, the goji leaf, the sticks. [1728.0s] What do we got here? [1729.0s] We got a couple extras, don't we? [1731.0s] You just thought about bringing some extras back? [1733.0s] He stole more than you needed to? [1735.0s] We're not on purpose. [1736.0s] It all kind of happened so fast. [1738.0s] Well, steal is such an ugly word. [1741.0s] Well, what do you want to do with these two here? [1744.0s] Do you- do you have a use for them? [1747.4s] If they do, maybe they could help Sully with that cough he just evaded. [1750.4s] Oh, yeah, that'd be good. [1752.4s] Yeah, no, you probably don't want to do that. [1754.4s] This one here is, uh, luex? [1757.4s] Uh, it's a poison. [1759.4s] Oh, I definitely don't want to eat that. [1761.4s] Uh, let me tell you what it does. [1764.4s] It's not good. [1765.4s] Wait for it. [1767.4s] I'm waiting. [1768.4s] I'm on the edge of my seat. [1769.4s] I'm looking it up in my book. [1770.4s] Oh, you found a seat, Sully? [1772.4s] No. [1773.4s] I did not find a seat. [1775.8s] But you said you were on the edge of your seat. [1778.8s] Oh, that's just a saying. [1779.8s] That's like what people say. [1781.8s] I hadn't heard that one. [1782.8s] I'm going to write that one down. [1783.8s] I like that one. [1784.8s] Yeah, jot that one down. [1785.8s] So when you have so much anticipation, uh, that like you're on the edge of your [1790.0s] seat because you're not all relaxed and stuff sitting at the back of your seat. [1793.0s] Oh, sure, sure. [1794.0s] Yeah. [1795.0s] Uh, well, when I said it was a poison, it's not actually a poison. [1797.0s] You put it on, uh, it's made from powdered stalks of luex plants, uh, which only [1802.3s] grow in very specific regions. [1805.1s] Uh, it's normally sprinkled on bleeding wounds, which are then sealed, uh, then sealed with [1811.4s] bandages or magical healing. [1813.9s] Um, after that, oh, well, it's, uh, it's addiction rating is pretty vicious. [1821.5s] Yeah, side effects could include, uh, intense racking pain for the first minute. [1830.3s] After this, well, you could become immune to all pain. [1833.7s] That's a positive thing, but you don't react like you normally would. [1838.7s] It changes you. [1840.3s] Like you stabbed me in my shoulder and I like giggle or something like that. [1846.1s] Like you're a little clumsier. [1849.7s] I mean, this sounds terrible. [1851.5s] What could this be? [1852.5s] It just sounds bad all around. [1853.5s] This doesn't, I mean, maybe it stops the bleeding. [1855.6s] Oh, here you go. [1856.8s] Here's the bad part. [1857.8s] Here's the- [1858.8s] Maybe if it's like a mortal wound. [1860.3s] No. [1861.3s] I thought that was- [1862.3s] So, um, once you take more than one dose in 24 hours, well, if you don't, if you [1869.8s] don't really take well to these sorts of things, you could, you could die in indescribable [1875.9s] agony. [1876.9s] Oh. [1877.9s] Oh God. [1878.9s] So maybe we'll just avoid that. [1882.7s] Need a high constitution for that one. [1885.4s] Do you want, do you want something like this? [1887.2s] Because I mean, we could all, like, we don't have to keep it. [1889.5s] We could just sell it. [1890.5s] There's a good black market here, right? [1893.4s] Well you're in it. [1894.7s] Um, so yeah, I mean, I could, I could pay you a reasonable dollar for both of [1899.7s] these. [1900.7s] The other one here is Mordane Vapor, which is made from ground leaves of rare [1907.2s] herb found deep in tropical forests. [1911.1s] It gives you, well- [1915.3s] Can I guess? [1916.7s] Yeah, please do. [1917.7s] You said Vapor. [1918.7s] Should we all guess? [1919.7s] Yeah, so Vapor, so I'm imagining it makes like big billowing clouds of smoke that [1923.0s] you can like, maybe like do cool tricks with and everybody thinks you look really [1927.4s] awesome. [1928.4s] Oh, I like that. [1929.4s] I was going to say give you an erection for more than six hours. [1932.7s] Uh, doesn't affect your member. [1934.9s] Well, I mean, actually it could because it gives you visions of incredible [1938.7s] mind-boggling beauty. [1940.2s] Oh. [1941.2s] Well, if you're not getting hard from that, I don't know what to do. [1944.2s] And for all you for about half an hour and during this time, well, there's a good [1948.5s] chance that you lose against anything you're doing. [1952.9s] No. [1953.9s] Just basically being able to walk. [1955.9s] Right. [1956.9s] So you just lay there in excruciating amounts of pleasure with these visions [1963.1s] for 30 minutes. [1964.1s] Yeah. [1965.1s] Sounds like a great way to have a weekend. [1966.9s] High addiction rating on this one. [1969.7s] If two doses are taken, well, it becomes a deadly poison. [1975.5s] The beauty turns to death. [1978.7s] It could kill you in anywhere from, you know, a day to a week. [1984.6s] Hmm. [1985.6s] At least this one seems to be dangerous. [1987.8s] This one does something good at the beginning, at least the other one. [1992.0s] Just all seems terrible. [1993.0s] Yeah. [1994.0s] It's all bad. [1995.0s] Yeah. [1996.0s] Uh, and I see you got the circlet here. [1997.8s] That's good. [1998.9s] I have everything on the list. [2000.8s] I will hand this over to you. [2003.9s] She hands you the contract, which you signed. [2006.8s] Yep. [2007.8s] I take it back and I say thank you very much. [2011.6s] And as you hold it in your hand, it bursts into flames and falls to the ground. [2016.4s] Oh, that's how it's supposed to happen. [2018.4s] Oh, gosh. [2019.4s] You could have warned me. [2020.4s] You got me. [2021.4s] Really sneaky. [2022.4s] Yeah. [2023.4s] Really sneaky. [2024.4s] Yeah. [2025.4s] I changed my pants. [2026.9s] Well, good thing you wore your brown pants. [2034.0s] Don't choke Amy. [2035.0s] I know. [2036.0s] It was very mean. [2037.0s] I was mid-drank. [2038.0s] Well, that's why I always come wear my shitting pants. [2042.6s] It's like heavy on the walking dead right now. [2049.4s] But yeah, these two, yeah, I could definitely pay a reasonable price for them. [2053.3s] They seem really rare. [2056.3s] Ten gold for the Mordain Vapor, and I'd probably give you, I don't know, reasonably about [2063.2s] a hundred for the Lewicks, a hundred gold, a hundred ten all in. [2069.0s] Well, considering that we weren't expecting to pay for any of this, I mean, I'm okay [2074.6s] with that. [2075.6s] Glim, Moot, you good? [2076.6s] Oh, sure. [2077.6s] Of course. [2078.6s] Yeah. [2079.6s] Seems pretty good, yeah. [2080.6s] Seems fair. [2081.7s] I do not want the responsibility of having these powders and stuff on my... [2088.5s] Well, if you only take a little bit of this one, it's totally fine. [2090.9s] Did you want to try it before you sell it? [2093.2s] No? [2094.2s] No. [2095.2s] Okay. [2096.2s] She goes and tucks them away onto a shelf behind her. [2100.9s] As well. [2101.9s] How was your trip? [2103.2s] Everything goes smooth? [2104.7s] Well, someone touched our donkey. [2108.1s] Yeah, where is it? [2109.2s] You had a donkey. [2110.2s] I put it, we put it into the circle. [2111.6s] You had to move everything around. [2113.2s] I can't talk about it. [2116.0s] We had to give him to a good home. [2120.4s] It was too dangerous to get out of the city. [2122.5s] We had to lay low, and by lay low, I mean take to the roofs to escape. [2126.5s] I may have gotten very angry when someone touched the donkey, and then it seemed like [2130.8s] Solly hated them for some reason. [2132.3s] I don't know, it just seemed like the right vibe to really just flame blast them, [2137.9s] and then everyone sort of wanted us. [2142.2s] That sounds terrible. [2144.1s] I mean, you flame blast, anyways, regardless, regardless of that. [2149.1s] I mean there was other things that were good. [2150.7s] We made two new friends. [2152.7s] Mood got to wear an awesome hat. [2154.8s] I had a pretty awesome sun hat. [2156.7s] Did you get to take that hat, buddy? [2157.7s] You look fucking amazing in that hat. [2158.8s] We got new pseudonyms, so it was really like a growth experience. [2164.5s] Very fun, very fun. [2165.5s] It sounds like a wonderful adventure. [2167.2s] Well, if you want your donkey back, I mean I can help you out with that. [2173.2s] Costs 110 gold. [2176.5s] Well, we left him with this very nice boy. [2179.3s] Right? [2179.8s] Who seemed like real happy to have him. [2182.0s] I do feel like those two maybe are meant for each other. [2185.0s] I think so, too. [2185.7s] Okay. [2186.5s] Thank you, though. [2186.9s] Well, if you change your mind. [2188.5s] I know how sad I feel if all of a sudden a donkey that I knew and started to love, [2193.2s] all of a sudden just poofed away from me. [2195.2s] Exactly. [2196.2s] Great. [2196.8s] Right. [2197.3s] That's cool. [2198.0s] Shall we? [2198.7s] Have a good one. [2199.6s] Yeah. [2200.0s] No, it's a pleasure doing business with you. [2201.4s] Glad everything worked out in the end. [2203.4s] Again, if you want your donkey back or any other sort of, you know, odds and ends, [2208.0s] you come back to Charmy's and we'll take good care of you. [2211.0s] Okay. [2211.4s] Thanks, Charmy. [2212.0s] We're here in the middle. [2237.9s] Really? [2238.6s] Really got like a good. [2239.6s] Awesome power peed that last. [2242.4s] Second, third, fourth wind on that one. [2243.7s] Wow. [2244.7s] Yeah, well, you just got to sustain it. [2246.5s] It's like you moved away and then you're coming back, you know, but we're here. [2251.1s] We are here. [2251.8s] In the middle? [2252.5s] In the middle. [2253.1s] Welcome to it. [2255.0s] Thank you for being here with us. [2256.3s] It's a wonderful day. [2257.3s] It's the episode where we came back from recording with Mook, Glim, and Sully. [2261.2s] And it's a wild ride, isn't it? [2263.0s] We're all loose. [2266.0s] We're pretty loosey goosey. [2269.2s] Yeah, Judith, Judith. [2272.4s] We would like to thank one of our patrons for the name Eskenerveen. [2278.6s] And that patron is ALex Garrity. [2280.8s] Thank you, ALex, for that name. [2282.2s] Thank you, ALex. [2283.6s] That's one of the things that some of our patrons get to do over at [2286.2s] Patreon.com slash dumb dragon cast is provide to us NPCs and items. [2291.9s] We tried our very best to mention them. [2294.0s] We're going to be very good about it moving forward. [2296.8s] But we've actually made some changes to that tier. [2299.0s] And make it a little more alluring, if you will. [2303.5s] We've slapped some lingerie on this. [2305.2s] I know I didn't. [2306.0s] The way you said that made me a little bit uncomfortable. [2309.0s] Boudoir photo shoot for the tier. [2311.4s] It's it's really a lot going on. [2313.2s] Pick your own word and put it in there. [2314.7s] Whatever. No, no, that was good. [2316.2s] Yeah. No, alluring was the one. [2319.9s] But what you get to do over there now is provide to us as many names, [2323.5s] race, class, quirks as you can or want to at the $15 tier, [2330.4s] which is our in world tier. [2332.0s] And that will give us NPC ammunition for days. [2335.9s] Also, you can make Russ like if the special quirk is turn all ours into L's [2341.9s] and then just unleash that on Russ and watch him go. [2345.4s] Less is going to have a great time with that. [2347.9s] She did it already. [2350.0s] She really had that in the chamber. [2353.0s] So good. That could be one of the options that you do. [2356.2s] But also at that tier, you get to stock the shelves of the new feature [2360.8s] that we're going to be bringing to the show, which is Zed Mart. [2366.6s] What's Zed Mart? [2367.9s] Well, Canadian friends, you may remember something. [2371.2s] A store here called Zellers was fantastic. [2375.2s] Was it? It wasn't really. [2376.9s] It was like a bad Canadian kind of like discount department store. [2381.9s] But we don't remember going there. [2384.0s] It was a step down from Wal-Mart, K Mart, step down from Wal-Mart. [2388.4s] Some of them had like lunch counters in them. [2390.7s] Oh, for sure. There was a lunch counter. [2393.3s] Yeah. Yeah. [2394.4s] So it's just a little a little nostalgia. [2397.8s] They'd send me a letter on my birthday. [2399.8s] I got to eat there for free. [2402.2s] So we've incorporated that. [2404.0s] That is our Zed Mart. [2405.6s] So this is smart to shop there every every six to eight episodes. [2410.0s] Now, that store is going to pop up into a store with a new local branch [2415.2s] where our players, whichever storyline we happen to be in, [2420.3s] will be able to pop into the Zed Mart [2422.5s] and buy some sweet stuff that you guys come up with. [2425.2s] So we can browse the wares, find out what's available, [2428.0s] what our awesome patrons have like come up with and what they cost. [2431.9s] And some of them will buy, some of them will window shop, [2435.9s] some of them will drool over and try and convince our friends [2439.0s] to give us extra money so that we can like all chip in to buy them [2442.9s] and they'll betray us and we'll never get the thing we want that's a pony [2446.3s] or like whatever, for example. [2448.9s] Just a hypothetical. [2451.4s] Absolutely has never happened to Carla before ever. [2454.8s] It sounded rather specific, which we'll get into probably [2457.6s] in the downtime of whatever downtime we record next. [2460.8s] But but that's what we're doing. [2462.8s] And we'd love for you to come join us. [2464.0s] Patreon.com slash dumb dragon cast. [2467.3s] Come check it out. [2468.3s] But now let's get you back to the episode [2470.0s] and find out if Judith comes back. [2473.0s] Did you hear the tongue noise that time? [2474.4s] There was noise. [2475.9s] Judith. [2478.7s] Judith. [2479.6s] OK, have a great week. [2482.0s] Talk to you soon. [2482.7s] Bye. [2486.9s] All right. So do you have like a list [2490.3s] of what we're supposed to be doing at any given time? [2494.7s] I think I mean, not not like a formal one. [2497.6s] Oh, that's surprising. [2499.6s] I know, but sometimes we get so distracted that it's hard for me [2503.4s] to keep track of what we're supposed to be doing. [2505.4s] Well, you guys remember how we're going to save the world. [2507.9s] Obviously. [2509.1s] Yeah, we eventually. What's it? [2510.6s] What's we need to go to Taman? [2513.3s] So to the capital to declare my oath. [2517.2s] Right. So I don't know. [2520.6s] I mean, we've been doing this other cool stuff, [2522.5s] but maybe we should head. [2524.5s] And it's very, very far. [2527.2s] So I don't know how we want to get there. [2529.9s] In what direction is it? [2531.8s] Well, all I'm thinking is I did this thing. [2535.8s] We did this thing so that we could save Merv. [2540.7s] But I don't know if Merv is safe. [2543.1s] You're right. [2544.9s] So like maybe he could like come along on our [2547.8s] on our saving the world adventure. [2549.3s] I know it said there was only three of us, [2550.9s] but maybe if we get to a coast or something, [2553.3s] he will enjoy his seafaring life. [2556.2s] Well, how do we? [2557.4s] So you need to talk to Laden, Laden Menda. [2562.1s] I mean, do you remember you got kidnapped here? [2565.3s] And then that's how you found out about Merv, right? [2567.7s] I sure did. [2569.0s] Do you think I don't know, [2571.2s] like you recognize the kidnappers if you saw them? [2573.4s] Like, how do we get a message? [2574.6s] How do we find out if Merv's OK? [2576.3s] I don't know. Maybe if I just like hang out in town square [2580.1s] by myself for a second, you guys turn your backs. [2582.9s] Maybe I'll get kidnapped again. [2584.5s] It kind of seems like something that would happen to me. [2587.3s] You know what? It's not the worst idea I've ever heard. [2590.0s] You're not wrong. It's kind of what happened last time. [2592.7s] All right. Well, let's stage my own kidnapping here. [2595.4s] And we'll just see if we like give it a few minutes. [2599.4s] They were pretty quick. [2600.2s] So it's like you turned your back for a second and they had me. [2603.2s] OK, well, I'm just going to go back over to our in-wink. [2609.5s] Yeah, I'll go with Glim. [2613.0s] I'm saying wink. I'm not winking. [2614.8s] Glim, you don't have to say winky winky. [2616.7s] Oh, I'm not that good at the winking. [2618.8s] So I say it. But OK. [2620.9s] We're just going to leave you here by yourself then. [2624.4s] All right. I'm just going to look at the cool stone work in this square. [2629.3s] I used to be a stoner. [2632.8s] Sully goes off and is looking down, [2636.0s] just whistling to himself, waiting to get kidnapped. [2639.4s] He's not whistling to himself, though. He can't whistle. [2642.0s] Right. He can't whistle. [2643.2s] Sully is just humming to himself. [2648.1s] Asking to be kidnapped. [2650.9s] Moot and Glim, where do you go? [2652.2s] I think just like down the road and then kind of like turn around. [2656.2s] It's obviously we want to, yeah, you know, [2658.8s] a little ways around a corner. [2661.0s] Two heads on top of each other. Exactly. [2663.8s] OK, as you walk around this corner, Moot, you almost run [2667.3s] face to face into your friend, Eska, [2670.8s] who's startled and jumps back to Moot. [2674.5s] I didn't know you'd be back so soon. [2677.2s] Oh, I didn't. [2678.6s] I didn't know we were going to be back right away either. [2680.6s] But how have you been? [2682.9s] What have you been up to? [2683.9s] Well, it's just, you know, as we had previously discussed, [2686.4s] taking notes on trying to figure out how to [2690.4s] tackle these magical abilities. [2693.4s] Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. [2694.8s] Yeah, I mean, I had a couple other events [2698.9s] since then, and I tried to try to figure out what I was doing previously. [2703.7s] One, I was summoning my mage hand to get a box of oats. [2710.4s] As one does, yeah, that's a that's a pretty standard thing. [2713.5s] It's just, you know, a long day juggling. [2716.0s] You don't want to get up and get the oats. [2718.6s] I get it. [2720.0s] And the other one, there was, I mean, [2722.6s] I was doing my snowball trick and these little, [2727.2s] I don't know what they were. [2728.2s] They were just little like mushroom gremlin people [2731.9s] just popped out of nowhere and started like terrorizing the people. [2737.0s] I don't know if they were trying to terrorize the people, [2738.8s] but they were certainly making a lot of hi, I'm Eska. [2742.8s] Oh, Eska, it's so it's so nice to meet you. [2744.9s] I've heard so much about you. [2746.2s] Moot told me so much about you. [2748.3s] Oh, wow, that's that's that's great. [2750.4s] We had long days on the road. [2751.6s] So, you know, you have to, of course, [2753.5s] you learn a lot about people and the people they know and the people [2756.6s] the people they know know all those people. [2760.5s] Well, that's that's great. [2761.9s] And so, yeah, a couple couple occurrences. [2766.1s] No real trigger. [2767.7s] Like I felt like just this surge of like [2773.0s] power, right, as soon as it happened. [2777.2s] It felt like it felt good. [2780.5s] Oh, see, I'm always I never remember what mine feel like. [2785.0s] I just remember the things that happen after. [2787.2s] Oh, did anything happen to you? [2789.0s] Well, I had one happen to me, but I just felt really warm inside [2793.6s] after it happened. [2794.9s] But I'm not really sure if it I had one where I wet my pants, too. [2799.6s] No, no, no, no. [2800.4s] And that's not what I mean. [2801.2s] Like I felt like war. [2802.6s] Sorry. No, yeah, me neither. [2804.1s] I just seen a big hot bowl of soup or something. [2806.6s] I felt really warm inside. [2808.8s] Oh, that's that's not like I'd spilled it on my crotch. [2812.4s] Oh, yeah, of course, me neither. [2814.0s] I mean, I was just, you know, trying to, you know, [2816.9s] normalize your situation in that moment. [2819.3s] Well, it's very kind of you, but it wasn't needed. [2821.6s] Yeah. OK, fair enough. [2824.0s] OK, well. [2826.4s] Great. I mean, you got you got time to chat. [2828.2s] And he's just walking around like maybe we can try [2830.6s] and figure this out, throw iceballs at each other and like see if we can't. [2835.2s] I don't know. [2835.8s] Well, you guys can go ahead if you want mood. [2837.4s] I can keep an eye on Sully and I look back at Sully in the square. [2841.0s] And what's he doing? [2842.7s] Sully's gotten a little tired of standing. [2845.4s] It's been a long. [2847.4s] So he's you see his small figure crisscross applesauce [2853.0s] sitting on the stone in the square. [2856.4s] Like he's got a stick in one hand and he's like pushing rocks. [2860.4s] He just looks so kidnappable. [2862.2s] Yeah. Right. [2864.3s] Yeah, I can keep an eye on Sully if you guys. [2867.3s] Want to do you want to meet back at the at the end later? [2870.7s] Or should I meet you somewhere? [2872.4s] Yeah, I guess meet back at the end. [2874.4s] And yeah, I don't I don't know how well, [2877.8s] we'll just be as long as we're going to be. [2879.4s] Yeah, I think I can probably handle the kidnappers. [2881.5s] I mean, last time they ran away pretty quick [2883.4s] and this time I'll know right away that he's been kidnapped. [2886.1s] So, yeah, I can handle it. [2888.9s] All right, cool. Thanks, Glim. [2890.4s] And Aska and I go off like arm and arm, skipping down the street. [2894.0s] That's nice. [2895.8s] La la la to talk about magic. [2899.1s] Sully, you're sitting in the middle of the street. [2901.1s] People are walking by you, some of them looking at you like, [2903.3s] what are you what are you doing? [2906.2s] But you're still not kidnapped. [2910.3s] He looks around like really. [2913.9s] Just disappointed that no one's kidnapped him. [2918.7s] It's like, well, I'm not good enough to kidnap second time. [2921.7s] Yeah. So he starts to get up [2924.7s] and brushes, brushes pants off and kind of. [2931.6s] He has no idea how long he's been sitting there for. [2933.9s] It could have been forever for all Sully knew. [2937.6s] But he starts to make his way back to the inn [2939.8s] because we didn't say where we were going to meet. [2941.9s] So Sully's just like. [2944.5s] Yeah, maybe they're getting some more chicken or I don't know. [2952.5s] He just trudges off. [2953.9s] Well, when I see Sully get up, then I then I'll I'll follow him. [2959.0s] Hey, Sully. Oh, Glim. [2961.0s] I wasn't kidnapped. [2962.5s] I I know I was watching from over there so that I would be ready [2966.0s] in case you were, because Moot went with his friend, [2968.4s] Eska, to do some magic training. [2970.8s] So I was waiting, but then. [2973.4s] Yeah, you didn't get you didn't get kidnapped. [2976.0s] Are you OK? Yeah, it's a little disappointing. [2978.2s] Thanks for asking. [2979.3s] It's a little disappointing, but you know what? [2981.8s] I kind of realized something as I was sitting there [2986.5s] that when I saw that guy at the dock [2991.0s] after we had, you know. [2994.6s] Got gone there and was like doing the thing [2997.4s] and and did the whole like given to the scrolling stuff. [3001.8s] He totally showed me Merv being let go. [3006.4s] Yeah, yeah, I thought maybe you wanted to find out where Merv was [3010.5s] so we could go get him, so he could come with us. [3013.0s] But I think he's safe. [3015.0s] I think I can tell you something, Glim. [3016.9s] You know what? [3017.7s] Merv and I, we met in the prison in in Neverwinter. [3023.0s] We didn't actually know each other that great. [3025.5s] I did have a big a big heavy sack of guilt [3029.5s] weighing on my heart because it was essentially my fault [3034.1s] that he was pulled into that [3037.8s] that that big that big hole. [3041.6s] So but now that I see that he's been let go, [3045.5s] I think I can probably, you know, rid myself of those feelings [3050.8s] and give my whole attention to your quest for world domination. [3056.9s] Oh, well, I mean, it's saving the world, [3059.2s] but I mean, I guess dominating it with with good spirits [3062.4s] and good intentions is sort of sort of what we're doing. [3065.8s] Dominate it with with love. [3068.5s] Yeah. Yeah. [3069.7s] Let's dominate this world with love. [3071.4s] Yeah. Get up on it with love. That's right. [3076.6s] You scream that as you're walking to the rusty buck. [3079.4s] Rusty buck. [3080.6s] You can't make that word. [3082.4s] It's a rusty bucket. [3083.6s] I know. I want to call it a rusty bucket. [3086.0s] Why? What's a rusty bucket? [3088.0s] I don't know. [3089.2s] Not a thing. [3090.7s] You're saying that as you walk back to the rusty bucket [3093.5s] and you scream that just as the doors open and on the other side. [3099.1s] What's that about mountain things with love? [3103.3s] Judith and I. [3104.8s] Judith. Yeah. [3107.0s] Oh, wow. [3109.7s] It's it's been a long day. [3112.7s] We fade out on the two of you brushing off. [3115.1s] Judith and we cut back to Moot and Eska. [3120.4s] The two of you have skipped off arm in arm [3123.0s] down the streets and you get about, I don't know, [3127.6s] 20 meters away and Eska stops. [3129.7s] It's like, where are we going? [3130.8s] Well, I thought you were leaving. [3131.6s] Oh, no, I just got swept away in the in the excitement of skipping. [3137.9s] I haven't skipped in forever, my friend. [3140.2s] Oh, neither have I. [3140.8s] We've been very busy sneaking out of cities that don't like us. [3143.9s] So skipping was not on the menu for a while. [3146.0s] Well, well, OK. [3147.9s] Well, if we're going to talk about this, maybe just find because [3150.7s] like it seems to like the the power, [3155.0s] just like it feels like it's rushing through, like out of the earth, [3158.1s] out of the out of Nate, like maybe we just go find an open field [3161.8s] and like practice, see if we can get it to happen. [3166.4s] It's a pretty good idea, actually. [3168.1s] It's, you know, as a [3170.9s] just controlled experiment, as best we could do it. [3173.8s] Yeah. OK. [3175.8s] The two of you continue to skip off just outside of the city. [3179.2s] And you're out in an open field. [3183.4s] Grass about knee height [3185.6s] by a little stream that's running down to the city and says, [3189.1s] well, what kind of what kind of things can you do? [3191.2s] You said like it was like ice stop another fire fire at that point. [3196.5s] I did the yeah. [3197.9s] Yeah. I mean, honestly, it kind of changes every now and then. [3204.0s] Just if I if I haven't done it in a while, [3206.7s] sometimes new things surprise me. [3208.4s] So it's probably good we came to an empty field to test this out. [3211.8s] All right. OK. [3214.3s] Well, I guess I'll go I'll go first. [3218.2s] He begins moving his hands towards the stream. [3222.0s] And you see the water begin to lift up and out of this stream. [3227.0s] And he moves it in a sphere [3231.2s] out in between the two of you. [3233.5s] And he's focusing quite hard on it. [3236.2s] And you see it kind of vibrating [3239.8s] in between his hands, not holding it, but just levitating there. [3243.9s] It's. [3246.4s] Nothing, nothing else seems to be like I can control. [3249.5s] Like specifically, like water is really easy for me. [3254.6s] Anything else is. [3258.3s] I don't seem to have a grasp on yet. [3261.3s] And he moves his hands and it pops and falls to the ground. [3267.2s] OK, hmm. [3272.1s] Well, I mean, it makes sense that water works well for you. [3276.5s] That that makes total sense to me. [3279.4s] For me, yeah, like it started with with a lot of ice kind of stuff. [3284.1s] And now I've got some fire stuff and I, you know, I guess I'll. [3290.0s] Try and just throw a fire bolt over over in the water, [3294.9s] because that way it'll it'll just go out and no one will get hurt. [3297.4s] There's a lot of grass here. [3298.4s] We don't want to we don't want to burn down, burn down the place. [3302.0s] Yeah, yeah, that's that's a bad that's a bad plan. [3304.5s] So, yeah, I'll go stand over by the river and I'll [3308.2s] I'll throw the fire bolt into it. [3310.4s] Is that yeah, that checks out. [3312.3s] Sure. Yeah, yeah, let's do that. [3314.2s] All right. So, yeah, I, you know, kind of. [3318.4s] Palm up and I've got a little fire bolt in my hand [3322.6s] and I throw it on into the river. [3326.0s] All right. So as you cast this fire bolt, [3328.3s] roll me on your wild magic surge table. [3331.7s] Got to get that surge table. [3334.7s] I rolled a thirty four. [3338.6s] So thirty four. [3339.9s] You're going to maximize the damage of your next damaging spell [3343.2s] you cast within the next minute. [3345.4s] So let's say you feel like there's something something inside you [3351.6s] that's just got to got to come out. [3353.6s] How close is Eska to me? [3356.2s] Like I would say that as you cast, like he's behind you, [3359.1s] but maybe like, I don't know, five to ten feet tops. [3362.9s] Like he trusts us that, you know, he can like water splash fire. [3366.4s] So I kind of look at my hand after I throw the the fire bolt [3371.0s] into the river and it's like there's like [3374.6s] human torch style. [3375.8s] It's like my hand is still kind of glowing. [3379.2s] Afterwards, and I turned to Eska and I point at my hand. [3382.6s] I say, like, well, this doesn't usually happen. [3385.8s] That's not normal. I was going to ask if that's normal. [3388.2s] No, no, it's not. It's not normal. [3390.0s] Should I? Should I do it again? [3394.0s] He shrugs and like gives this big face of like, yeah. [3400.8s] Yeah, that's what we're here for, to practice, right? [3404.4s] OK, all right. Yeah, let's do it. [3406.4s] And this time I put both of my hands together. [3411.9s] And like my thumbs touching and the fingers are spread out [3415.9s] and I unleash a cone of fire, [3421.6s] just flames shooting out everywhere. [3425.6s] And like some of it's hitting the river and some of it isn't [3429.1s] because it's a little more than I had planned on. [3433.8s] This fire erupts from your hands and splashes down [3437.8s] and Eska immediately sees that it kind of splashes up [3440.8s] onto the grass on the other side. [3442.8s] And he moves to throw some water onto the burning grass [3446.6s] as it sets and looks to use it without that one. [3451.2s] Is that a different kind of thing? [3453.0s] Or is that the same like that was bigger? [3456.7s] No, no, that was that was I just felt like I was really like revved up. [3461.6s] So I I went for more. [3464.0s] Oh, yeah, I could I could see that. [3466.6s] Like it just like. [3468.4s] And as you guys are talking and discussing the ground begins to shake. [3474.1s] Oh, boy, is that is that you, too? [3477.2s] I don't I don't think so. [3479.2s] This is a new one for me. [3481.7s] You're looking around trying to figure out [3484.4s] neither of you is really feeling anything except the ground shake, [3487.2s] not your usual usual magic. [3491.6s] Tingle, tingle. [3495.1s] And there's an. [3499.0s] The sound of ground tearing and [3505.1s] what can only be described as an explosion [3507.6s] coming from the center of the city. [3510.4s] We cut to Sully and Glim and you are sitting in the rusty bucket. [3516.6s] Avoiding Judith. [3519.5s] And the table begins to shake and the ground begins to shake. [3522.1s] Pictures begin falling off the wall and you hear this explosion. [3528.2s] Judith, what the fuck did you do? [3531.0s] It wasn't me. [3534.8s] Does it with everything now? [3536.5s] It's escalated. Oh, God. [3537.9s] Double down on it. [3539.5s] So, I mean, there's two separate groups here, [3541.6s] but each kind of describes to me what you do as soon as this explosion goes. [3546.5s] Ask and I just kind of look at one another. [3549.6s] And do we see, like, smoke or anything in the city? [3552.2s] Yeah, after a brief moment, you see what looks like [3556.1s] ash and black cloud billowing up from the center of the city, [3560.4s] kind of towards the town square where you had just come. [3563.8s] I say, ask, I would like we got to go check on Sully and Glim. [3568.0s] They might be that that might have been them. [3570.4s] Yeah, yeah, yeah. OK, let's go. Let's go. [3572.7s] Two of you run off back towards the center of town. [3575.1s] Glim and Sully. What was that, Sully? I think. [3579.5s] That that sounded really bad. [3581.8s] It did sound bad. Is it time to save the world, Glim? [3584.5s] I don't know, but I think maybe we should start. [3586.6s] And I think we run out of the rusty bucket. [3588.5s] Yeah, let's head towards that explosion. [3591.0s] This one's on you, Judith. [3594.4s] I got it. [3596.4s] You burst out and you see this black cloud [3599.0s] and ash billowing up from the town square where you had just come. [3602.4s] It's down the street from where you are in the rusty bucket. [3605.7s] You're running down the street and people are running away from you. [3608.5s] Neska, you're running in from the opposite side of the city [3611.1s] and people are pushing past you as you're trying to get to [3614.4s] where this explosion had come from. [3617.1s] And you round the corner and you see that there is this tear [3620.6s] in the center of the town square that opens up into this black pit [3626.2s] that is billowing flame and black cloud and ash. [3632.4s] And you hear this guttural scream. [3638.2s] Come from the center of this mess and up shooting from this cloud [3643.8s] is this winged, hideous demon that bursts up into the cloud [3649.4s] and begins flying around and swooping down, [3652.2s] trying to pick up people that are fleeing. [3716.6s] Well, I'm not sure, but I think- [3720.6s] Well, as far as I can track it- [3722.3s] Because when you handed the scroll over [3725.4s] to the guy at the dock, [3726.9s] he showed you an image of Merv being let free. [3730.0s] Yeah, I know, but how do I- [3731.5s] No, I didn't remember that. [3733.7s] Like, Merv, you basically saw him being [3739.7s] walked off the premises and being like, [3742.5s] bye. [3744.3s] And you don't know what city that's in. [3749.0s] Well, then maybe we'll find out [3750.5s] that I'm not gonna get kidnapped, [3752.0s] and I'm just gonna assume that Merv is fine, [3754.2s] and then we're gonna go to- [3756.1s] Maybe while you're contemplating in the square, [3758.9s] you can think about- [3760.7s] Oh, remember. [3761.6s] You can think about how. [3762.8s] Okay, yeah, that's fair. [3765.4s] Okay, back in- [3767.4s] Never give me important plot point information. [3769.2s] I had forgotten that happened, too. [3770.8s] I also had forgotten. [3772.0s] Thank you! [3773.4s] There was all that- [3774.2s] Rooftop chase. [3775.2s] I mean, it was so long ago [3777.8s] we found the information. [3778.6s] There was intense high action [3780.3s] between then and now. [3781.2s] There's a lot going on. [3783.3s] You forged new friendships. [3784.7s] Fair enough.
